JOHNNY TABOR at age 18 5'8, 165 lbs, from Y Houston Texas. Biceps 14, Waist 29, Chest 42, Thighs 22, Calfs 13 3/4. Johnny had only trained a short while when this and other shots. on page 16 of AMG's catalog YD13 were taken. He found barbell work easy and pleasant, and made gains very rapidly-often to, the amazement and consternation of his training buddies who would work just as hard and yet fail to make the same rapid progress. It probably cann t be emphasized strongly enough to neophyte bodybuilders that contrary to the glowing claims of some of the barbell manufacturers not everyone can become a superman in a month's time. Some, like Johnny, can make impressive gains after just a few months, while others of exactly his same size going thru the same movements would make hardly noticeable gains. Certainly almost everyone benefits by systematic training, but not to the same degree. Choosing the right grandparents is a much better way to assure having a prize winning physique. 1 catalog of Tabor 10 cents (YD13 pg 16) from AMG.

HANK PRATER executes an arm lock on Norman. Clean, collegiate style wrestling is one of the finest forms of bodybuilding, and we have seen some young men with extraordinary builds who attribute much of their development to wrestling workouts. There is of course a considerable difference between the theatrical big time wrestling so popular on television, and really serious college wrestling. For professional demonstrations it is actually mandatory that a wrestler be heavy and fat--a man under 225 lbs would hardly be considered. And it is no secret that while these wrestlers may not work from an exact script, they do recognize their obligation to "put on a show" to satisfy the many sado-masochists in the audience by feigning the most viscious cruelty, and in general to give the impression that most every bout is a real grudge fight filled with action. In comparison collegiate wrestling might seem almost unglamourous, but certainly the trim, well developed wrestlers are far more poetic in their movements than their blubbery professional counterparts.
